We met Claudia last weekend in St. George and immediately became

I met Claudia also last week in St. George. Her straight forward positions mentoned above are impressive. I partriculary support her position On Medicare for all. As a thirty year senior executive in the Life and health industry I know from the inside why Medicare for all is the only possible plan. It will be cheaper, it is morally the right approach. It is non profit and involves no marketing costs.Claudia has the courage and intelligence to take it on.
She will need our help.
I spoke with Matheson at the County convention, and did not get one clear statement from him on what he stands for. I spoke with Claudia, and she rattled off what she stands for. I want the same things she wants. I will proudly cast my delegate
vote for Claudia.

My precinct elected me to be a delegate for Claudia Wright. Claudia stands for the core principles of the Utah Democratic Party and the National Democratic Party. She supports public financing of campaigns and has taken the pledge not to take corporate money. This is a bottom-up campaign supported by volunteers – people-powered democracy at its best. I know Claudia will represent the people of Utah, and it is exciting to see the support growing for her as she inspires more and more voters sick and tired of having representatives represent their corporate funders and not their constituents. My name is William White. I am a former Molecular Biologist and Research Associate at the University of Utah School of Medicine and Veteran’s Administration Hospital in the Departments of Human Development and Aging, Internal Medicine and General Surgery. I currently serve on two boards: Utah Department of Health HIV Prevention Community Planning Committee and the Recombinant DNA Safety Committee for the Veterans Affairs Hospital. I am a activist with the Union of Concerned Scientists.
I am currently on disability for just about everything but Claudia has given me the courage and resolve to become an independent journalist. My first published op ed was in the April 11, 2010 Salt Lake Tribune. The title alone tells you why I am opposed to Jim Matheson: Weather forecasts unsettled, but not climate science. Jim’s vote on cap and trade, health care reform and the Iraq war has cemented my desire to see him replaced in Washington with Claudia Wright, who best represents my personal interests but also the interests of our duly elected President Barack Obama. I first met Claudia when I took her class here at the University of Utah. She inspired me to become more politically involved. She is smart, articulate and knows exactly what she believes. I support her wholly. I know she is one of the last “good people”

I have been a supporter of Claudia since I attended the Citizens Candidate initiative at the main SLC Library back in January and participated in her selection. In my opinion she is more impress in her own right than President Obama. And my reason is
because she is truly a grassroots candidate of and for Salt Lake Citizens.

When I first heard Claudia Wright speak at the SLC public library last January, I knew we had an authentic Democrat to run against Jim Matheson.
Those of us who have been ignored by Jim Matheson have a candidate we can trust and believe in. Claudia Wright possess the acumen, honesty and courage President Obama
needs to assist him in Washington.
I count myself as being extremely lucky to have been involved with the Utah Citizens’ Candidate project from the beginning. I have been actively involved with political action for some time now, organizing rallies, training citizen lobbyists, circulating petitions, contacting media, raising funds, setting up meetings with congressional leaders, etc., and although skeptical at first about finding a “Courageous Congressperson” by placing an ad on Craigslist, I have found this campaign a true lesson in democracy, a concrete, effective means of creating citizen involvement and a lasting and substantial way to send a direct message that the status quo has got to go. It has not worked, it does not work and it will not work until we can create real “change”.
I had no idea when this experiment began that such a perfect candidate for office would emerge, break to the surface and cause such a rippled “splash”. Claudia Wright is the right choice to represent Utah and she is the best choice to represent
each and every one of us in congress!
I am so impressed with Claudia Wright and what she stands for. She is truly a Democrat who will act like a Democrat under all circumstances. The line is never clear with Jim Matheson. He says he is a democrat? Claudia is intelligent, articulate, compassionate, and has a good grasp on government workings. She was clearly the better candidate at the County convention and I will support her with my delegate vote

I believe Wright’s chances of success are excellent, considering the circumstances of the current political climate. I look forward to Wright’s stance of responsibility and action. I’ve always voted for Matheson, even though his wrecklessness, congealed by special interests, has felt increasingly like a series of betrayals to my party and to the hard-working citizens of the nation. I’ve voted for him only because I had no option, since I couldn’t possibly vote for a candidate that manipulates the public for corporate gain. Now I have an option. I am proud to support Claudia Wright. I have met her personally as an educator, and I know her to be highly intelligent, inquisitive, and morally responsible. But this election isn’t just about Wright; this election is about bringing in a new era of challenging ineffectual (un)representatives. With the help of extremist thinktanks and corporate funding, the Republican Party has strong-armed not only Matheson but the county I love into policies that amount to lawlessness and apathy, not to mention a crippling recession and travesty in the Middle East. I support Wright because I care about where this nation is headed, particularly considering it’s impact on world economies and justice. She is level-headed, representative of my Democratic values, and well-suited for the job. It’s about time we challenge the status quo. It’s about time someone stood up for the middle class and the disenfranchised
alike. Our nation should behave as a family would, looking out for the best
interests of all, not just for the highest bidder.
I am happy to support Claudia in her courageous race against Matheson. I support her because she wholeheartedly supports the Democratic Party’s principles. I am very upset to see that Matheson’s campaign contributors are all business special interests (except Labor, which happens to be the lowest contribution group!) I am incensed that Matheson voted against healthcare reform. Is it any wonder that the Healthcare business lobby is by far the largest contributor to his campaign funding?
Claudia Wright pleasantly surprised all of us at our local candidate gathering in Wasatch County by her thoughtful, honest and professional presentation Her level-headed answers to our varied questions was inspiring. What an enlivening breath of fresh air for the citizens of Utah!

I have studied the respective positions of Claudia Wright and Jim Matheson and have examined a good deal of Jim Matheson’s voting record. I have done a great deal of soul searching. The positions of Claudia Wright more closely align to my own personal positions. While others may disagree, in my opinion, her positions more closely align with those of the Democratic party than do Jim Matheson’s. On the other hand, incumbent Rep. Jim Matheson has undoubted greater name recognition, he has positions that align with many Utah independent and moderate Republican voters, and he has the endorsements of most of the Democratic party elites.
In a race of such huge importance to the voters of Utah, I think it is of paramount importance that delegates give the citizens of the State of Utah the right to choose whom they think should be on the ballot for the Second Congressional District in November. Accordingly, I’m endorsing Claudia Wright so that voters can go to the ballot box in the primary election

I had Claudia Wright as a teacher at the University of Utah. Claudia is a
very powerfully head strong, amazing woman and I would love nothing
more than to see her win.
I have known Claudia since I was her student in the 70’s at Cottonwood High. She was thoughtful, intelligent, progressive and committed those many years ago as a young energetic teacher. She inspired me to think outside the box and for myself, and to challenge authority (much to my mother’s chagrin) as I ‘m sure she did many of her students over the years. She has been steadfast in many of her stands and beliefs and I’m sure she will continue to do so. Her honesty is refreshing in the current political climate. She speak to a new generation of Democrats as well as those of us who have not been well represented in Utah over the years. I will gladly support her this Saturday with my vote as a delegate.

Although I have been a lifelong activist for various causes, I have never before been part of the democratic process. Because of Claudia, I became a delegate, and for the first time in my life, attended a Democratic convention. Although she is semi-retired as an educator, she is still teaching people about how our political system works and what our duty is as citizens of the United States. Because of her, I am working for the first time for a true grassroots candidate, and am spending countless hours volunteering for her campaign and working tirelessly and enthusiastically toward her election in November. She is
intelligent, honest, ethical and will make Utah proud. She really is Wright for Utah!
I met Claudia Wright 31 years ago when she was a teacher at Cottonwood High School. She has a lifelong dedication to public service, education, and inspiring others around her to keep themselves informed and involved. Claudia is not a Democrat because she registered to vote that way on a whim. She is a living example of all things the party platform has always held dear. She does not mindlessly follow the masses who have deluded themselves into thinking a Utah Democrat should look like Jim Matheson, and should water down what they believe in to be more acceptable to the masses and get those all important Republican swing votes. The Democratic establishment in Utah believes Jim Matheson must vote the way he does to get re-elected + to keep Nancy Pelosi at the helm of a Democratic majority, + we in turn, should vote for Jim.
How can the leaders in the party excuse Congressman Matheson’s vote against health care reform? against civil rights for all people? The list is long. It is time, as they said of General McArthur, for Matheson to talk a walk into the sunset.

Health Care: All people need affordable health care. San Juan County is a low economic area, wages low and job opportunities slim. We need Claudia to fight for affordable and sustainable health care.
Immigration: It is difficult in rural areas to find a work force. We have met some of the most amazing Hispanic people that want to work. We saw impeccable work ethic, dependability, responsibility but we had to turn them away because of what the government could do to our business if we hired them. Claudia will fight for the rights of all people.
Environment: San Juan County is only 8% private property. We need our natural resources protected, we need regulations on current Uranium and Copper mining projects, we need federal resources to support rural living. San Juan County needs someone who will truly represent us.
Claudia, a friend for 17 years, is someone who has always shown her genuine care for other people. She has been one of the most selfless people I know. Claudia has never been “out for Claudia,” she has always kept the interest and feelings of people in her forefront. They call her grassroots, we call her the root of reconnection, leading us back to the true Spirit of America. San Juan County and Grand County come out and vote for Claudia,
she is Wright for Utah!
Jim Matheson has worn the title of “Democrat” while wearing the red coat. He does not represent the Democrats of Utah. He is a Bush Democrat. A Blue Dog who is really a Red Sheep. He follows the republicans. He shows no loyalty to the Democrats or to the people he is supposed to represent.
Claudia is a true Democrat I want her to represent me in Congress.
After Matheson said, “No”, on the HCR bill, I told a lot of people that I’d rather vote for a moderate Republican than him, again. As a Caucus Chair, after 2 years of attempting to speak with him personally and – at best – getting a form letter in response. At the Salt Lake County Convention, I spoke with one of his campaign aides, and told her like it is. Shockingly, she brought him over and we chatted for about 10 minutes. His answer on one question -”How did you feel about the HCR bill, deep down in your heart”? sealed the deal. No way in hell would I vote for him.
The first time I heard Claudia’s name was thru another candidate and campaign manager. I immediately started researching her.The more I heard and read, the more I liked.
After meeting her personally at our precinct caucus (she lives in my neighborhood – how cool is that!), I asked for her card. I called and left a message the next day. OMG! SHE CALLED BACK!!
Since that first call, Claudia has consistently maintained contact. She is responsive. I believe that even when she’s busy in D.C., while it may take her more time, she will continue to be responsive. Because she has had some similar life experiences to my own, she knew and understood some of my main issues. She meets the Utah State Democratic Party Platform

Claudia embodies everything I have come to love about being a Democrat. Equality. Access. Caring about us, the people. She is strong and courageous. Warmth emanates from her. Obviously, Claudia is a risk taker. And a “follow up-er”. I feel like a real and live person when I’m around her. Happily, I can add “friend” to that list.
Altho Claudia knew how I felt, she told me to not endorse her until after the State Caucus meetings, when I would be free to say what I wanted without biasing Caucus members.
I was proud to stand and cheer with my button, bag and signs when Claudia, et al, entered the room. I stayed standing (which wasn’t easy), wishing I could have been part of the entourage or one of her endorsers. Claudia Wright has renewed my spirit and mind of “Yes, We Can” belief that President Obama brought out.
It’s time to forget about Matheson and do everything and anything (legal!) to put Claudia in Congress.
THEREFORE, I HEARTILY, AND GRATEFULLY, ENDORSE CLAUDIA WRIGHT TO BE UTAH’S 2nd DISTRICT NEXT REPRESENTATIVE.

I was really impressed when I learned more about Claudia Wright’s ideas for a better Utah and a better America. She does not run and hide like our current Congressman. She was a strong advocate of health care reform and I believe that she will do all in her power to prevent corporate interests from usurping the power of the average citizen. She is a pragmatic and sensible leader who has done the unimaginable with an all volunteer staff. Some people in our Democratic Party think she is too far to the left. I disagree. She is really a centrist with values that cares about all Utahans. The Utah Republican Party and its Tea Party auxiliary are the real extremists with their pre-Civil War agenda of giving the ’state’ the right to not follow federal law. Go Claudia!
After hearing Claudia’s speech and the speech of Rep. Matheson at the Democratic State Convention, there was no longer any question in my mind who would be the best representative for Utah’s district 2 in Congress. It’s refreshing to have a candidate I can wholeheartedly support. For me it’s no longer a question of who can win, but rather, who must win. Go Claudia!
I fully support Claudia Wright for election to Congress in the Second Cong. District. Claudia is a progressive Democrat who believes in fairness and a break for the little guy. She is for universal health care, equality for the immigrant, equal protection under the law for all, an end to U.S. militarism.
